Betting On Sports Is a Sound Investment

And yes, you read that headline right: betting on sports is a sound investment. I actually prefer to use the term ‘investing’ as opposed to gambling. When I hear the word gambling I have an image of somebody filling out a parlay card and donating $20 or $50 to their local bookie because they haven’t got a clue what they’re doing.

If you invest in something, you do so after you’ve done research and due diligence. The best stock picker in the world, Warren Buffett, won’t invest in a company unless he knows exactly what they do and how they make their money. You should never invest in something that you don’t understand.

Another key to sound investment strategy is to stay diversified. That means you shouldn’t have all your money piled into one asset class. Be it real estate, the stock market, your piggy bank, etc. it doesn’t matter: all your money should never be in one place.

And I feel that ‘investing’ in football and basketball games can be a legitimate way to diversify the money you have to invest. Let’s face it, most of us can’t analyze the financial statement of a business and make a lot of sense out of it. BUT, most of us can look at a pointspread and understand its meaning.

Putting your money into something only makes sense if you have a plan to succeed. That’s why I can recommend the Sports Betting Professor systems: They’re simple to follow, easy to understand, AND perhaps most important of all – they come with a 100% money back guarantee.

Try calling up the CEO of one of those big Wall Street companies and see if you can get the money back that you lost by buying their stock. Ain’t gonna happen. But if you go to http://www.sportsbettingprofessor.com you can try out my system of investing on sports and if it doesn’t work out to your satisfaction, just let me know and you can have your money back.

Whether the stock market or the economy is doing well or doing poorly, you should always consider having some of your portfolio invested in the Sports Betting Professor.

All the best,

Rich

Day 4 review

Another negative day in terms of picks, I am always finding a loser, need to put more care and analysis. in the picks. with regards to trading, I traded for 2 games and got a total of 400 Euros, it has been a great week in trading so far.

Most of the money came on the Clement vs Johansson game, I was watching the game, Clement was playing better in my opinion, and i backing and laying him. I was red after the second set because when Clement was 4-1 up in the second set tie break i did not exit my trade since I though clement would win in second set, but in tennis there is never a thing such a sure thing. Anyway in the third set, Then i layed Johansson for 2000 Euros at 1.2 and when Clement broke Johansson in the third set I exited my trade for a good profit.

soon i will be starting posting on my new blog www.tennistrader.blogspot.com which will be about my tennis trades only.

total -0.6 points

Day 2 Review

Great day yesterday, both from the picks side and from trading, Yesterday i got right 5 out of 5 for a total of 14 points. In trading i made a total of 328 euros. A regular reader of my blog commented about my tennis strategy. What i do is this, I have 2 accounts one for trading and one for betting picks and i do not mix them together. the betting account i just place bets and leave them while the trading account i trade according to the game. Yesterday i traded in 6 games and I got profit in all of them. I am trying to be less aggressive and when a decent profit is secured, in a game, I quit trading that game. here are the results.

Nalbandian vs Navarro Pastor + 15€

Just 15 euro combined in games and in match trading here, could have been better or worse, could have been better if pastor won at least a set, he was very close in the 3rd set where he was a break up but nalbandian broke again and won in the tiebreak. I was watching the game, nalbandian was the better player, but navarro had a great server. I won 141€ in the total games where in the beginning of the 3rd set i backed 35.5 games or more at 1.6 , as I thought either navarro takes this set or at least he should go above 5 games in this set which he had always done.

Malisse vs Pless + 27€

Backed Malisse when in my opinion odds where too high around 1.8. layed when i could secure a decent profit, (to risk ratio).

Schiavone vs Dechy. 74€

I usually trade more men games then women, but women games tend to be profitable, there is more swings. In this game i entered first set result was 3-3. and 30- 30 score, i backed schiavone at 1.4, and waited until she won the first set and odds went down to 1.15 and greened out for a good profit.

Blake vs Russell +58€

After first set Blake was at odds 1.08. Russell was having a good game and thought he could give some hard time to blake in 3 sets. Also i checked the head 2 head and Russell was 3-0 in non Master games, so I thought Russell could take at least a set. Second set he broke immediately blake and i backed blake at higher odds and leaving more green and russell hoping he could win the set. Blake won the set and I only won 58, if russell won second results would have been much better, but a profit is a profit.

Vakulenko vs Hantuchova. +101 €

Here Hantuchova was favourite, Vakulenko won the first second and in the second set Hantuchova broke, odds went really down at around 1.35, here i layed Hantuchova hoping Vakulenko willl break again in the second set. but she did not. Had to wait in the third set to exit where she broke early in the 3rd set and Hantuchova never recovered.

Karlovic vs Clement +54 €

This was my first trade of the day, as i start trading after work. Karlovic was favourite in my opinion after his past form but when i starting watching the game he was 2 sets down so I layed clement, Karlovic won the next set where then i back clement to secure a profit and start a day on a good note. I feel first trade of the day is very important to be in profit so it will give you a boost of confidence.

Overall i had a good day where i made 328 € profit in tennis, a negative note was in soccer where I layed any quoted result in the liverpool vs toulouse game after liverpool scored the second goal. I thought they would take it easy now but 2 late goals ruined my bet, my fault, I should have greened out when odds where around 20's, but at the end of the day i was still +224 € up.

Tuesday, 28 August 2007

Day 2 picks

Lleyton Hewitt vs Amer Delic Back Lleyton Hewitt Back 1.08 won +0.8 points
Ivan Ljubicic vs Kristof Vliegen Back Ivan Ljubicic Back 1.25 won +2.5 points
Andrei Pavel vs Dominik Meffert Back Andrei Pavel Back 1.36 won +3.6 points
David Ferrer vs Florian Mayer Back David Ferrer 1.22 won +2.2 points
Xavier Malisse vs Kristian Pless Back Xavier Malisse 1.56 won +5.6 points

day total + 14.7

US open total +0.7 points
Day 1 -14 points
Day 2 14.7 points
not such a good day yesterday for my pick, i need to do more analysis, and be more selective. on the other hand a good day in trading. (I keep separate account for trading ). here are my results.

In all I traded 8 games and made a profit of 669 Euros.

Isner vs Niemen ( 3 :1) profit 24 Euros

Isner is the rising star and heard good things about him, I backed Isner in the first tie break aroun 2.6 but then he lost and then i layed Niemen in the second set at odds of 1.34. Isner won the second set tie break and I layed some of Isner, hoping the Isner will win the 3rd set. And in fact Isner won the 3rd set and I layed isner and had 107 euros at each side. Then i should have stopped. I should make this as a rule of thumb "If i trade and have 100 euro profit on each play , I should go to another game". I did nothing for a long while just observing the game. Each player had played 20 games or more each and no one had breaked anyone yet. so when Isner was leading in the 4th set against his break, I layed him, as the pattern was not to break, but eventually Isner broke Niemen and won the set leaving me with a total profit of 24 euros.

Haas vs Darcis (3:1) loss -49.5 Euros

Layed Hass at 1.14 for 200, the layed him again at 1.04 something but Darcis never recovered

Kiefer vs Spadea(3:0) loss -23 Euros

Layed Kiefer at 1.08 but spadea never won a set.

Hrbaty vs Lee. won +59 euros

Lee was at odds 1.04, I wanted to lay him but after 2 previous losses i was caution and only layed 200 at 1.06. Hrabty then won the 3 rd set and Back Lee around odds of 1.4 and stopped.

Verdasco vs Mathieu. won +353 euros

Verdasco is a fighter and i knew it and when i saw the odds at 1.1 on Mathieu I made a 1000 euro lay on mathieu, Verdasco won around 5-6 straight games and from 2 sets and a break down reached 2-1 sets and a break up, i was back mathieu with 50 euro chunks all the way for a good profit

Luczak vs Horna + 3 euros
small back and lay in the tiebreak

Golovin vs Rolle + 234 Euros

I was going to sleep but on the bwin.com website, there was live streaming of this game, rolle is a young american and she was playing with real determination so i backed her 60 at 4.5. she won first set and odds went around 3 and i could lay at around 100 euro profit on each. instead i left most of the profit on Rolle. Golovin won the second set easily and the odds went really low around 1.14 on golovin. Here i knew that the market is wrong, golovin was favourite, and won the second set 6-1 and everyone thought that next set will be an easy set for golovin. so I layed golovin for another 500 euros and watched the game. when rolle was breaking golovin i was back golovin at 1.3, 1.4....... until around 2. I had a good profit and at odds of 1.3 on rolle I layed rolle for around 500 hoping goloving will break back but she never did and left me with a profit of 234 Euros

Ramirez Hidalgo vs Canas +96 Euros

Canas was big favourite here so when he was 1-1 into sets I backed him at around 1.6, then he was losing 3 rd set and backed him again at around 2.4. I started to lay him off when he broke hidalgo in the 3rd set, then when he was 2-1 up I greened up and left 96 profit on each player and went to sleep 669 euros richer :)
